Design & Functionality
Soap nuts are the dried fruit of the Chinese Soapberry tree. They contain saponin, a natural cleaner used for thousands of years to clean clothes. The natural saponin helps break the surface tension of water so it can more easily penetrate into fabrics. Once wet, the agitation of your machine shakes dirt and grime out of clothes and saponin holds it in suspension so it's not redeposited onto clothes. The dirt rinses away and your clothes are clean and bright. Soap Nuts are low-sudsing - ideal for high-efficiency washers. 100% natural, they are hypoallergenic, making them perfect for babies or people with sensitive skin. Simply put a few soap nuts into the included cotton sack and drop it in your laundry. Reuse up to 5 times in hot water, even more in cold water. For delicates, soak a few Maggie’s Soap Nuts in a cup of hot water for a few minutes. Add the liquid to cool water and hand wash.

Care Instructions

Great Product, Great Customer Service
Last year I bought this sample pack to try but I didn't have high expectations. I have terrible allergies and try to limit our chemical exposure though so I gave it shot. Nine months later I'm pleased as punch. They get our clothes clean without making them smell like a perfume factory and without irritating our skin. They're much better for the environment and cheaper than buying detergent as well. The best part though, in my opinion, is the customer service. Shortly after the product arrived I attempted to open it and cut my finger on the industrial grade staple used to hold the bag closed. I wrote to ReUseIt to let them know that the packaging could hurt someone and they passed the info along to Maggie's. Twenty four hours later not only did RUI send me a discount code to use on a future purchase, Maggie's sent me some free products and a discount code and even said they'd look into ways to change the packaging to get rid of the staples. Because of this fantastic customer service I'm a devoted fan of both ReUseIt and Maggie's and sing their praises to anyone who will listen!

So far so good!
So far these worked great! I've heard lots about soap nuts in the natural/eco community and from friends. I have used several brands of natural detergent that I am quite pleased with, and so far these did not disappoint. I will have to get a large bag to use them more long term to see if they work as well over time. But so far so good!

A great product.
These are awesome and I love them. They were super easy to use and made my clothes wicked soft. I really really love them for towels and blankets because they made everything so soft. They work well for hand washing also (just follow the instructions). Although its not terrible, I wasn't a huge fan of the smell. I just added a couple drops of essential oil and it fixed this problem completely (then you can customize your own laundry scents too!). All in all, great buy. I'm going to invest in the super huge bag asap.

better than chemicals
I've used these a few weeks now and I love em! They get everything just as clean as chemically mainstream detergent, cleaner actually, without the nasty perfume smells. Thank you!
