Messenger bag and newspaper bag meets shopping bag. Typically used by mail carriers and newspaper delivery folks, this big, heavy duty natural cotton canvas bag is great for trips to big box retailers such as Costco, or hauling heavy groceries especially cans, beverages, etc. Used by a variety of groups for promotions, plays and activities.
3" wide shoulder strap effectively distributes extra heavy loads and long enough to hang across the body. Probably the best bag we carry for comfortably hauling really heavy loads.
Here's your chance to get the same bag the pros like Gannett and Tribune Newspaper companies purchase for their carriers!

skip the cart......carry it all!
I have used a variety of bags and baskets and, to various degrees, have appreciated their(choose one) lightness, compactness, cleverness, engineering, or aesthetic. This bag can be appreciated for what it can lug.....period....and that's not a bad thing. If you tire of carrying multiple bags loaded with a bit too much stuff and find the loops biting into your palms, give this a try. Thrown over a shoulder, both hands are free to fondle the fruit and veggies, tear off plastic baggies, whatever..and the wide sling spreads out the weight pretty well. Finally, when you get home, the bag works well in reverse....letting you walk about the kitchen with both hands free while you load your goodies from the bag to the pantry/refer/freezer. I got mine in a workmanlike black and it appears ruggedly stitched together.....perhaps the stitching's a bit crudely executed but not so as to impair the durability........just rendering a slightly homemade look.

Love this bag
Fits easily over the shoulder and across the chest for hands free use. I'm a massage therapist and carry laundry from car to 2nd floor office. Four sets of sheets as well as a few towels and pillowcases fit easily. Very strong, heavy canvas with thick stitching, I can't get over how light and easy my load is compared to lugging a laundry basket around. I bought 2 so I'll use for grocery purchases too.

Well Made
I was pleased to find how well made the product was. But then anything made in the USA is going to be superior!

Great bag and very roomy---BUT---
I haven't gotten a chance to put my bag to use yet, because I bought it to collect the harvest from my large home garden. The bag has plenty of room, and it is very well made. I don't think I could rip it out if I tried. My only complaint with it is that the strap is a bit too short for me at 6 foot. The opening of the bag catches me just a bit under the armpit,so I think a longer strap or better yet,an adjustable one would work better for my purpose. I think I may ask a seemstres I know, if she will make it longer for me. Other than that one thing, I am satisfied with the bag.

Messenger Bags Good for Bulky Lightweigh
1 out of 1 customers found this review helpful
My two black messenger/newspaper bags are good for carrying bulky, lightweight things like a load of clothes for the laundromat, for a walk of about four blocks/ten or twelve minute walk. Not so good for heavy items like a grocery shopping trip of oranges and carrots wieghing perhaps twenty pounds. The laundry weighed less, about 12 pounds, I would guess. The heavy groceries caused my back to start hurting on the way home from the grocery store. So I reserve my two black newspaper/messenger bags for laundry trips, and am happy because up til now, I had no convenient way to carry my laundry in winter. (In summer I use my bicycle; but in winter, having no car, I must walk to the laundromat.) Thank you reuseablebags.com for a great product! P.s. I keep things from falling out of the messenger/newspaper bags by tying the load up within secured bags. For the groceries, I used several smaller bags, each tied close at the top, to keep groceries from falling out. For the laundry trips, I first put all my laundry on top of an old sheet, then tie up the sheet securely. ONly then do I put the laundry (inside the tied-up sheet) into the open-top messenger/newspaper bag. Note in winter with extra big laundry loads, I will use both my messenger/newspaper bags, on on the left, and one on the right, to balance each other as I walk.

Perfect for my needs
This bag is great! We're a newspaper publisher and this bag is perfect for taking papers (and other supplies) to events to distribute. It is roomy (to say the least) and strong. Having a couple of snap closures on the bag would be awesome, but that would be icing on the cake. I highly recommend this bag if you have to haul a lot of stuff.

Newspaper/Messenger Bag Good for Lightwe
The two black newspaper bags ("messenger bags") I bought are handy for carrying my laundry to the laundromat several blocks from my residence. In one of the bags I carried about 12-15 pounds of clothing (wrapped in a sheet which was tied together at the top so nothing fell out). I packed the clothing in quite tight, and the bag was very full, to its absolute limit, yet was relatively easy to carry for the ten or twelve minute walk to the laundry, then back home again afterward On the other hand, for carrying a heavy 20-25 pound load of groceries like carrots and oranges, the bag was not so good. The load was too heavy and so my back started hurting. My conclusion: for lightweight bulky items like clothing, the newspaper/messenger bag is great. But for heavy, compact loads, I still prefer my old over-the-shoulder tote bags (from Deer Creek Sewing at cottontotebags.com).

Very disappointed...
This bag sounded great on paper! It was not what I was expecting, much smaller than it looks, hard to keep stuff inside of it, shoddy construction. If it wasn't such a hassle to get to the post office I would have returned them!

I could fit my house in this bag!
Ok, maybe not the *entire* house, but this is a big freakin' bag! It fits messenger style, and I can put tons of stuff in it. I have used it to take back returnable bottles to the grocery store, and I was able to fit a lot of glass bottles in this bag. The black with white stitching is very nice. I agree with other reviewers that some sort of closure or strap across the middle of the bag would be very helpful. I'll probably attempt a DIY fix for that, but that's my one and only complaint about the bag.

good bag -suggestions

The bag is very well constructed and the material is heavy enough to carry a reasonable weight. Two options that might make the bag better: 1) add a center dividing strip (canvas) This will help keep items from shifting too much. 2) Add a top flap. This will help insulate refrigerated items in hot weather and protect items from other elements (rain). Both options would add to the cost due to additional materials but would be worth the extra to a consumer

great bags great price.

Great bags big enough for a man to carry on his shoulders without having the load catch under the arms. I personally hate carrying things in my hands, why?

Not crazy about it

I wish you could snap or zipper it closed. The opening is awkwardly wide and some things fall out.

This bag is well built and looks as though it would hold up to heavy use. It is bigger than I expected (my fault for not being more mindful of the description) and so it won't work for the use I had in mind but I plan to find another way to put it to work.

It's big and strong
It's big and strong. And it's made me a checkout employee friend at my grocery store. She appreciates my produce-heavy purchases and my self-bagging ways. Using fewer plastic bags is bloody cool. Although, after a washing, it seems to lose its stiffness and shrink a bit.

I'm in a wheelchair, but I can get around in my wheelchair lift-equipped van. Before I got this bag, grocery shopping alone was a real hassle. Now, I just put the strap around my neck and load it up as I'm shopping. All of the cashiers now know not to bother to bag my groceries as I just put them back into my bag. I bought some of that 3" wide day-glo green safety tape and had a local seamstress sew it onto the front of the bag for added visibility when I'm navigating store parking lots at night. The only problem I've had is that my housekeeper washed it in hot water and I lost a little volume due to shrinkage. Great product! Jay Moreno St. Marys, GA
