About Libre
Inspired by a trip to China, Libre founder Wendy Weir developed the tea glass as a means to inspire "tea moments" no matter the time or location. Tea has a rich culture in China, with ancient associations of quieting the mind, enjoying friends and as a refuge for the spirit and soul. She noticed that almost everyone had loose-leaf tea with them - the bus drivers, the office and construction workers, moms, dads and grandparents - everyone drank tea all the time! Wendy was advised that for good health, one drank tea all day - green tea is for morning, red tea for afternoon and pu'er for the evening. After purchasing a loose-leaf tea container in Changsha, the idea for Libre tea glasses was born.

Care Instructions
Clean before first use with soap and warm water. Hand wash.

Tips
  • The Libre tea glass is thermal because it is double walled - so hot tea stays hot and cold tea stays cold.
  • The lid will fit directly into the tea glass if you choose to omit the filter connector after steeping. Or, use it with just the lid for any of your favorite beverages.
  • If you experience leaking, check to ensure that rubber seals are in place in both the filter connector and the lid. Also, ensure that there are no tea leaves on the threads where the pieces twist together and that these surfaces are dry - tea bits and water bubbles can compromise the seal.

Like it don\'t love it

I like it, but don't love it. I had seen the mesh filter on the 9.0 oz Libre bottle (which my friend has) and figured the one on the 9.8 bottle would be similar-- but it's not. It looks more like a strainer and it's not nearly as effective at keeping the tea leaf particles from getting into your mouth while you drink from it. I'm regretting not going with the slightly smaller bottle that has a better filter.

Too bad

Very pretty, keeps tea very hot. Not great for filtering the tea, the lid is tricky. And even though I emptied it (for car travel) it didn't like being frozen overnight in the car, and cracked. So, it was an expensive, short-lived Christmas gift.

I bought The Libre Tea glass on December 18, 2010. I received it in no time at all! I was so happy but did have a problem with the lid leaking as well. I wrote to customer service, I couldn't believe I received a response within a few hours later, saying they'd replace the lid with another. i received it with a few days and MAN AM I THE HAPPIEST CAMPER OUT THERE!! I take it everywhere I go! I absolutely adore this product! It also acts as a hand warmer..keep the lid on & it stays hot awhile..I hold it against my chest/neck area whilst watching tv & warm & cozy cozy!! I LOVE YOU LIBRE & CINDY..YOU ARE THE BEST CUSTY SERVICER EVERRRRR!!! XOXOXOXXO

Scalded Myself . . .

by Janet S - 12/2010

The first (and only) time I tried to use this tea jar I managed to badly scald my hand. When I tilted the jar to try to get the tea to steep, the hot water leaked from the lid, which I had screwed on (I thought) securely. I have never tried to use this product since. I admit I don't get how it's supposed to work.

nice bottle but not for travel

by Kerstin P - 12/2010

I like the bottle; it is pretty and keeps tea long for a reasonable amount of time (but not that long). However, I do not recommend it for travel, as the glass interior is too fragile. Mine cracked at the bottom the first time I took it with me, thankfully at the base of the glass insert so that I can still use it. Now I only use it at home. Furthermore, the filter does not work at all. The holes are too wide so that loose-leaf tea will go through them; and it is also too shallow to brew tea properly.

I have only used it for cold drinks. Holds just the right amount of fluid to have with lunch. Does not leak, and keeps drinks cold. I love it.

Could this be the perfect to-go tea mug?

by Insiya R - 06/2010

I love that the lid screws on really tight so there is no spillage while commuting and that the two layers of glass prevent the cup from getting too hot to hold comfortably. My only advice, you have to clean the Libre glasses and dry the insides out well (as you would wine-glasses) so there aren’t any streaks or marks left behind from your tea.

for serious tea drinkers

by Lainie S - 06/2010

The Libre Tea Glass is another invention in the quest for convenient loose-leaf tea, an quite a welcome one at that. The tea glass is actually an all-in-one infuser and travel mug that offers two different infusion options so that serious tea-drinkers can make their tea the way they like it.

I love this tea carafe

by Karen R - 06/2010

The Libre Tea Carafe is fantastic! I have 2 of them - use them everyday. They are perfect for anytype of tea or teasan on the go or at home - it keeps your beverage warm and strains while you sip. The only problem is I would like one twice the size! Please consider making a larger capacity one as well. 18 oz or something close to that.
