Perfect for kids!
I used these to send sliced mixed veggies every day in my children's lunches while at school. Also great for fruits and trail mix, or just about anything! We use them every day....great investment and so useful.

Cool little tin!

This is a handy size for snacks. I haven't tested whether it's leakproof, but it doesn't look as if it would be. It could actually be used for pretty much anything - buttons, travel kits, etc.

not leak proof, but not plastic
Stainless steel is a great alternative to plastic! I love the look and feel and shiney pretty. This is not a leak proof container so I have to limit what I contain in it. It's been great for cookies, dried fruit, chopped veggies/fruit/greens, nuts, etc. I have been using it for two months; durable so far, lid continues to stay on and travel in lunch bag just fine. Also use it for food storage at home/in fridge.

great little container!
Call me crazy, but I love this little guy! It's great for holding sauces and dips, as well as small snack items, like nuts or fishy crackers. Kids can open it quite easily, and it washes up in a snap!

Currently the only solution ...
I have about 12 of these in my cupboards. I use them to pack yogurt, veggies, or fruit in my children's school lunches. They are the only stainless steel containers I could find small enough to both carry the amounts I needed and fit in their lunch bags (limited space for sandwich, fruit, veggies, yogurt, water bottle, and snack!). Our elementary school does not permit glass containers in the cafeteria, so I could not continue using the perfectly sized (about 1/4 cup) glass containers I had used in pre-school. I have had the same issues mentioned by other reviewers with lids being either too tight or too loose. I have a few like that. Luckily I can usually just try a different lid on a different body and get them to work. Fruit and veggies don't need as much precision in the lids as yogurt, so I reserve the perfect lids for sloppy foods.

Great for small snacks

The sizing of this product is perfect for portion control. It is just the right size for a small serving of nuts, dried fruit, or small crackers. It can be necessary to secure the lid with a rubber band. I purchased two. On one the lid fits fairly snuggly. On the other the lid easily slips off.

Love these things
I picked up 3 this summer and they're in constant use. Great for cheese, fruit, crackers, anything. I love that my daughter's food isn't always touching plastic, absorbing whatever it has to leach in and out. Yahoo!

I bought three. Two work great, one has a lid that sticks on occasion.

great when the lid doesn't stick

I bought these to send small items for kids' lunches (blueberries, etc) as the preschool doesn't allow glass. Of the three I bought, two have worked perfectly for the past 10 months. But on the third, the lid sticks terribly -- even my former football-playing husband couldn't get it off. The kids can't eat their fruit if they can't open the container...

Works OK

I know some reviewers mentioned a tight fitting lid that was hard to get off. I have the opposite problem. Mine is a little sloppy. It will be good for things like nuts and raisins, but probably not salad dressing.

Fantastic for snacks

I love this container for my kids. It's so easy to put some crackers or trail mix inside and then pop it in my diaper bag. And it cleans up really easy. This has become one of my favorite items to give as a baby gift.

lid sticks - badly
5 out of 6 customers found this review helpful
The lid on ours got stuck (with a modest amount of soy sauce inside). Had all visitors to our house try to get it open. Nobody was able to. Finally threw it away. SOLUTION: Now we use tiny glass bottles instead (the very sturdy, practically non-breakable type that you sometimes get in hotels with jelly). Check the shelves of your local grocery (or gourmet food store) for items that come in tiny glass jars, enjoy the contents, wash, and then use for your lunch box.
