Love these things

by Kitty C - 09/2010

I picked up 3 this summer and they're in constant use. Great for cheese, fruit, crackers, anything. I love that my daughter's food isn't always touching plastic, absorbing whatever it has to leach in and out. Yahoo!

I bought three. Two work great, one has a lid that sticks on occasion.

great when the lid doesn't stick

by Allyson S - 07/2010

I bought these to send small items for kids' lunches (blueberries, etc) as the preschool doesn't allow glass. Of the three I bought, two have worked perfectly for the past 10 months. But on the third, the lid sticks terribly -- even my former football-playing husband couldn't get it off. The kids can't eat their fruit if they can't open the container...

Works OK

by Leona M - 03/2010

I know some reviewers mentioned a tight fitting lid that was hard to get off. I have the opposite problem. Mine is a little sloppy. It will be good for things like nuts and raisins, but probably not salad dressing.

Fantastic for snacks

I love this container for my kids. It's so easy to put some crackers or trail mix inside and then pop it in my diaper bag. And it cleans up really easy. This has become one of my favorite items to give as a baby gift.

lid sticks - badly

by Rebecca T - 02/2010

4 out of 5 customers found this review helpful

The lid on ours got stuck (with a modest amount of soy sauce inside). Had all visitors to our house try to get it open. Nobody was able to. Finally threw it away. SOLUTION: Now we use tiny glass bottles instead (the very sturdy, practically non-breakable type that you sometimes get in hotels with jelly). Check the shelves of your local grocery (or gourmet food store) for items that come in tiny glass jars, enjoy the contents, wash, and then use for your lunch box.

Useful for adult snacks

While I purchased these for dry snacks for the kids' lunches, they have a hard time opening the lids. So I've used them for snacks for me or for the kids when they are with me.

Excellent product, great quality, perfect for lunch boxes to pack small foods. I would not recommend for liquids though as it may leak.

These are awesome. Dishwasher-safe and lightweight, they really are the perfect size for a kid-sized snack of cookies, crackers, small berries, edamame or cut fruit and veggies. Highly recommend and I'll be buying more for my daughter's lunchbag.

I had read about the quality issues with the Sidek

by Lynnette C - 11/2009

2 out of 2 customers found this review helpful

I had read about the quality issues with the Sidekick from other reviewers but decided to purchase 2 anyway. When they arrived, I found that one had really serious "black marks" on the inside, much like the stainless steel had tarnished or it wasn't even plated properly. There was no way I'm going to put food in contact with those black marks, so I contacted CS and returned both (the other one had some black stains, but not as much as the first). I have to say that Reusablebags CS is awesome! They refunded my return shipping (I'm out of the US) and promptly shipped me another 2 Sidekicks when they received the ones I returned. But I was disappointed when I received my 2 new Sidekicks. There were still some black stains, although this time, mainly on the outside. I thought I could live with that, so I proceeded to hand wash my sidekicks (we have no dishwasher here). To my horror, I found that the inside smelled really bad! It smelled like garbage. Really smelled like garbage which has been sitting around for a month. I've since washed it well with lots of dishsoap numerous times but the smell is still there. It seems slightly better but the distinct smell of garbage is still there. There's really no way I'm going to be putting food in there. I've not contacted CS about this yet because I'm just very disappointed, but I might write them an email very soon. Other than the problems I faced, I think the sidekick is a great size for sauces, or snacks for toddlers. A real pity about the quality issues. :(

I live, live, live by these. All our lunches are packed i some sort of to-go ware. The sidekicks are the only thing out there small enough for a kids snack or a condiment. Wonderful design. Lid stays on nice and tight yet easy for my 5 year old to open

I ordered this thinking it would be good for snack

by Laura M - 09/2009

I ordered this thinking it would be good for snacks for my daughter lunch box but it is tiny. Maybe it would work for a toddler and some very small amount of snack. I was going to return it but I am now using it as a salt container.

The sidekick is perfect. we have used it for salad dressing, salsa and peanut butter. It works great. The lid fits securly and has not leaked one. A snap to clean up. These are the perfect size for toddler snacks

by Gina B - 07/2009

These are the perfect size for toddler snacks. I can actually put it on my toddler's car seat, and he can serve himself. Only complaint is that one of the lids got stuck and wouldn't open. But Reusablebags customer service was awesome, and they just sent me a new one with no questions asked.
