Environmentally Friendly Campaigns You Will Want to Discover

The reusables movement is gaining momentum, and these campaigns and organizations are part of the push. We’ve chosen a handful of campaigns focused on the "consume less" movement, and those raising awareness about the plague of cheap reusables and the reusables revolution in general. Want to get involved? Check these out, sign their petitions, “like” them on Facebook and help spread the word!

  1. Inside the Bottle - Inside the Bottle watch, by the Polaris Institute, is committed to exposing bottled water companies while educating consumers about the needless expense and massive waste created by bottled water.
  2. Guardians of the Pacific - Self-described as the Hell's Angels for fish, they're on a mission to make selling, distributing or accepting plastic bags and bottles socially unacceptable with clever paste-ups on bottled beverage machines, billboards and in grocery stores.
  3. Safer Cans - A campaign to encourage the canning industry to invest in safer alternatives to protect the food supply and to stop using bisphenol A (BPA). We blew the lid off the BPA in cheap reusables issue years ago, their mission carries the message a step further.
  4. TakeOutWithOut - Helping you to fill your stomach, not the landfills by raising awareness about restaurant waste.
  5. Rise Above Plastics- Help reduce the use of single-use plastics around the world take the Rise Above Plastics Pledge today!
  6. No Impact Project - Empowering citizens to make choices which better their lives and lower their environmental impact through lifestyle change, community action, and participation in environmental politics.
  7. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics -  Launched in 2004 to protect the health of consumers and workers by securing the corporate, regulatory and legislative reforms necessary to eliminate dangerous chemicals from cosmetics and personal care products. Our DIY Healthy & Beauty Recipes also support the movement for safer costmetics.
  8. Safe Chemicals Act - The Safe Chemicals Act will reform America's broken and outdated toxic chemicals policy by requiring chemical manufacturers to prove that their products are safebefore they reach our shelves.
  9. Facing the Future - In support of Annie Leonard's The Story of Stuff, this program provides educators with the tools and resources they need to ignite their students’ interest in complex global issues while helping them achieve academically. With a positive and solutions-oriented approach, Facing the Future programming reaches hundreds of thousands of students each year at a cost of less than $2 per student.
  10. Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution - This campaign seeks to educate people about food and cooking, address the quality of the food served in school lunch halls and inspire food retailers to provide good quality, fresh, local food to their customers.
