 A U.N. study from 2006 stated that every square mile of the ocean has 46,000 pieces of floating plastic in it. In 2006, Starbucks used about 2.3 billion paper cups in their stores. Our landfills are packed to the brim, our oceans polluted and we simply cannot recycle things fast or efficiently enough to make a difference.
